my analogue diary. 2021 till now
Since I started taking pictures I noticed immediately that my passion for analog photography is much bigger than for digital. In the beginning I just took my camera everywhere with me and shot my friends and strangers especially at night. Every shot happened super spontaneously.
I wanted to do more than just shooting out of the blue. I started to stroll around the city and search for motives.
I feel attracted to warm and very powerful colors. They occur in nearly all of my pictures. I use them as an expressive accent.
“CITY STROLLS”
One day I decided to give black and white photography a real shot. I will always remember how quickly I was caught by the beauty of working just with light and contrasts. Shooting black and white film was something completely different. It gives the picture a very nostalgic and elegant look. I was amazed by the tidiness of my pictures.

The best side effect about shooting black and white film is that I am able to develop and scan it myself. It takes the excitement in this process on another level. I feel more connected to the black and white pictures I take than to my colorful ones, because I control the finished product from loading it into my camera on to transforming it from a negativ to a positiv picture on my laptop or enlarging it in a darkroom. It feels not just like taking a picture, I live through everything with this film.
More will follow soon.
